As Corporate Engagement Counsel, Atossa Movahedi works with the legal and compliance departments of major corporations, including financial institutions, to develop pro bono transactional and advisory opportunities for in-house counsel. This includes nonprofit client representation, pro bono clinics, Exponentum® national service projects, and trainings for nonprofits. She also helps corporations partner with Lawyers Alliance on board service and philanthropic efforts. Prior to joining Lawyers Alliance in 2022, Atossa dedicated her career to advocating for the rights of survivors of intimate partner abuse in New York City. She served as the Director of Legal Services & Development for the Urban Justice Center’s Domestic Violence Project where she oversaw the legal and development teams, litigated matters in family court, and contributed to the strategic development of the organization. Atossa received her J.D. from New York Law School and her M.A. in International Affairs (Human Rights) from American University in Washington, D.C.  She is also an alumna of Columbia Business School’s Senior Leaders Program for Nonprofit Professionals.
