Mr. Delany is spearheading The 50th Anniversary Campaign and special projects. Mr. Delany also advises nonprofits in the areas of exempt organizations tax law and nonprofit law, with a focus on the regulation of lobbying and political activity by tax exempt organizations. Mr. Delany led the organization through a period of robust growth and impact as Lawyers Alliance's Executive Director 1999-2019 and Legal Director 1997-1999. Prior to joining Lawyers Alliance, Mr. Delany was Section Chief and then Assistant Attorney General in Charge of the Charities Bureau of the New York State Attorney General's Office, and Staff Attorney at Bronx Legal Services. He received a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1980 and a B.A. from Hamilton College in 1975.
